Landscape Design & Sales

Landscape designers start as design assistants. Responsibilities typically include site measuring, base mapping, helping lead designers create and revise plans, and estimating. As you take on more responsibility, compensation increases.

Lead designers meet with clients and are responsible for designing and selling the project. They work closely with project managers to estimate, plan and build the landscapes to the highest standards.

A Culture of Safety

At Southview Design, we work hard to keep our people safe.

Education

Education about hidden hazards and strategies for preventing injury and illness is ongoing, not one-and-done. Through a series of monthly meetings, workers have opportunities to learn key safety concepts and interact with leadership to address their safety concerns.

These meetings give workers a voice in their safety and an opportunity to contribute to the development of safety procedures and practices, so they are “street ready” for implementation.

Safety Audits

We continuously audit safety policies and processes in the field. These audits help us maintain the highest standards of safety and walk our talk.

24/7/365

Safety "off the clock" matters. In 2023, the company has trained 20 workers on CPR/First Aid/AED with the goal of training every front-line field supervisor by the end of 2024. We have invested in emergency roadside kits for personal vehicles, home first aid kits, and CO detectors for workers to take home.

Continuous Communication

Digital processes streamline communication and support ongoing safety awareness and a world-class safety culture. From the front line to the leadership team, everyone has easy access to information and can provide feedback to affect change.

An 8-year Southview veteran, Jacob Hong was interviewed for the September 2023 issue of "The Edge," an NALP publication.

“Southview is an amazing place to work with amazing team members,” Hong says. “I could go on and on about the people, but one item that stands out to me and is a very important part of Southview that may not be talked about as much as it should be is one of our Three Uniques: ‘We do what we say we do.’ That gives me a lot of freedom to do what is best for my team and for our clients. The ability to be honest and do what is best for the parties involved makes it possible to be my best self.”
