This Inver Grove Heights family decided to take advantage of their spacious, surburban property and install a swimming pool with slide, an outdoor kitchen, hot tub, and a sport court. One of the main issues facing the designer was the steep grade down and away from the house. The back yard required a boulder retaining wall to provide enough level space for the swimming pool and outdoor kitchen.
Note a number of different outdoor living spaces for the family with several energetic, young children. There is a 3-season porch, a deck with pergola, an outdoor kitchen with a pergola, and several seating/dining areas around the pool. The sport court is one level down. The hot tub is set off to one side but easily accessible from inside the home.
In keeping with the resort theme, the swimming pool slide is set into boulders with natural stone steps leading the way to the top where there is a small paver landing with a black aluminum fence to one side for safety. The slide blends in with the boulder retaining walls around the outer edge of the pool deck which taper off just underneath the 3-season porch.
