Inspiring Twin Cities Landscaping Projects

Before and After Transformations

See What's Possible

Southview Design is the Minneapolis landscape design-build company with a hard-earned reputation for excellence in design, architecture, construction, landscape care, and client service. Our award-winning landscape design portfolio is full of creative ideas for outdoor rooms, patios, unique small yards, and swimming pool design. Our hard-working team of landscapers serves residential and commercial clients in Minneapolis, St. Paul, the Twin Cities suburbs and western Wisconsin.

Mulit-Level Backyard Fun

One of Southview's lead landscape designers was called in to difficult site conditions and high homeowner expectations for a swimming pool oasis in this suburban back yard. Dealing with a steep hill (which sloped toward the home) and saving a large 100-year old oak tree at the top of the hill called for complex and creative design.

The end result is multiple areas for outdoor living. The homeowners enjoy a screened porch, a paver patio plus a swimming pool area with plenty of space for catching some sun or dining; the hot tub is tucked away in a private corner. Landscape lighting in all areas makes the yard inviting early and late in the day.

Space for a Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Homeowner just finished renovating their empty nest when they were called upon by their grateful offspring to host a wedding. While the backyard pond provided an idyllic background for the reception, their small, steeply sloping yard had no hope of accommodating all the guests. In just 10 days, Southview Design leveled the ground and installed new terraced patios in this Eden Prairie backyard.

Backyard National Forest

Deep green and dark gray, this backyard design merges functional outdoor living spaces with a simple, naturalistic setting. Landscape Architect Meg Arnosti took great care to cultivate a simple atmosphere by blending the new features into the existing yard. This project won an award for Excellence in Landscape Design in 2017 from the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association.
