This Greenwood, Mn home and landscape underwent a renovation. Looking out on Lake Minnetonka, there is water on two sides and the home is at the end of a cul-de-sac. Redefining the front entry meant making the approach more dramatic. A paver driveway leads to a glacial boulder retaining wall with stone steps, directing you to the front door. The front yard has a variety of texture with small highlights of color.
One of the most notable changes is the transition to the back yard from the driveway. The homeowners on either side shared failing timber walls and once-beautiful gardens. Both homeowners agreed to pull everything out and work with one of Southview's lead designers to restore the garden areas. The new boulder retaining wall stretches between the homes with a variety of garden plants. The concrete steps (made to mimic natural stone) come from the head of the clients' driveway down to the back yard with Chilton stone flagging on the landings. Part of the home remodel included a new deck with a paver patio underneath. The Fond Du Lac seat wall and columns are solid stone.
