Minnesota Backyard Paver Patios

Space for a Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Homeowner just finished renovating their empty nest when they were called upon by their grateful offspring to host a wedding. While the backyard pond provided an idyllic background for the reception, their small, steeply sloping yard had no hope of accommodating all the guests. In just 10 days, Southview Design leveled the ground and installed new terraced patios in this Eden Prairie backyard.

Design Challenges Met

  • Small Backyard
  • Steep Slope
  • Uncooperative weather and a Tight Deadline
Before and After: Small Eden Prairie backyard

BEFORE: Small back yard and patio

The backyard quickly sloped away from the walk-out basement. In order to create more usable spaces, we create an expansive patio that stretches around the house to the side yard.

AFTER: Multi-level patio

The terraced design separates different functions, and created enough space to accommodate 125 guests for a wedding.

Night lighting illuminates the ever path and patio. Several spotlights even highlight ornamental trees and shrubs.

Gardens around the fire table offer color in all seasons. From bright summer flowers, to sturdy evergreens. Soon, these baby plants will fill out to create a more private patio retreat.
