Private Family Refuge

A refuge from busy day-to-day activities was what this family wished for. Since their property backed up to privately-held land, they knew no one would ever build behind them and the backyard would always be peaceful and private.

Elegant curving private paver driveway in Eden Prairie

Multicolored versailles pattern paver driveway.

From the welcoming paver driveway, to the low maintenance gardens – this curby front yard mixes the formal style of neatly separated spaces with curving and organic lines. The result is a balanced landscape design that offers rest and support.

Front yard and back, this landscape design takes advantage of the exceptional seclusion of the homesite to create a northwoods Minnesota resort right in the family’s backyard.

Our Design-Build Process

expansive backyard swimming pool in Eden Prairie

Night lighting adds to the ambiance of this backyard swimming pool landscape.

Starting from a firm foundation

In order to create a level space for the 800 square foot pool, fire patio, and two outdoor rooms, a boulder wall had to be constructed to raise the grade of the backyard.

Blending indoors and outdoors

Serve brunch or coffee on this three-season dining porch and deck just off the kitchen and family room. The porch has a fireplace for chilly mornings and drop-down screens to keep pesky bugs out.

Swimming pool and connected outdoor living spaces

From the kitchen and family room, to the porch and pool deck, separate spaces flow together.

Upstairs and downstairs outdoor rooms include a large indoor-outdoor dining porch and an under-deck living room with a ceiling fan.

Curving staircase leads to a fire patio

Just steps away from the dining porch is a 16' fire patio.

It’s all connected

From the dining porch, descend the curving staircase straight to resort style amenities in their own backyard.

16' circular pave patio with a gas fire pit

Intimate fir pit.

A gas fire pit patio comfortably sits 4-6 people. The pavers are the same type as the driveway and adds to the cohesiveness of the entire project. A seat wall creates a sense of enclosure and privacy, while the ring around the fire serves as a rustic coffee table.
