Summary
Responsible for providing strategic leadership, oversight and direction for safety, health and risk compliance for the organization as well as maintaining and meeting proper accreditation standards. Will also develop, analyze and share benchmarks, goals and metrics to help improve safety and health risk across the organization.
Responsibilities
Typical job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide
strategic leadership, oversight and direction for safety, health and risk
programs.
- Monitor
industry, safety, health and risk trends to ensure organizational
awareness and compliance.
- Develop,
analyze and share benchmarks, goals and metrics to help the organization
improve safety and health risk awareness with the goal of reducing the
severity and frequency of incidents that will lead to claim and premium
cost reductions.
- Develop
and maintain safety and health policies and procedures for the organization.
- Ensure
safety and health programs are implemented effectively and are in
compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead
the organization in continuous improvement in the safety and health field
while mitigating risks.
- Maintains
the OSHA safety log and other administrative requirements related to safety
operations and regulations.
- Ensures
completion of annual required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
- Responsible
for training staff on all safety procedures and best practices.
- Reviews
employee accident reports and medical claims to evaluate the need for potential
changes to current policies and procedures.
- Other
miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education
4-year degree in safety, industrial
hygiene or related field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in working with regulatory organizations such as OSHA, DOT, and/or EPA. Previous Landscape and/or Construction experience a plus. Direct experience with a large organization with diverse business processes and multi-site environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills
Other
Position is primarily administrative in nature with extended periods of sitting. Should be able to lift under 20 lbs.
Primarily inside a temperature-controlled office building. Occasional exposure to exterior elements (i.e., pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.).
