We all love the glow of something new and fresh – and this custom home doesn’t disappoint… on the inside. Unfortunately, the front yard lacked any personality or character. That's where we stepped in and created a front yard landscape design drawing on the modern farmhouse architectural style of this Edina, MN home.
Before: Blank slate of new construction
After: Cottage garden with modern elements
To reflect the modern farmhouse character of the home, we added additional modern touches to the traditional garden landscape, including the cor-ten steel house number monument and the cor-ten/cedar horizontal fence.
The Bluestone walkway connects the driveway to the front porch and patio. Perimeter plantings frame this welcoming space, perfect for warm greetings and lengthy Minnesota goodbyes alike.

As a semi-public space, this front patio is an essential part of the neighborhood streetscape. But sometimes, you just need some peace and tranquility. This unique millstone fountain babbles and bubbles to create quite an atmosphere, even in the front yard.
In today’s design, horizontal is the new picket fence! Contemporary yet timeless, this design provides privacy in style. Tall grasses and low evergreens blend the fence into the landscape.
Whether you are dealing with new construction or an established landscape in need of a refresh, we've worked on all kinds of landscaping projects. Front yards, side yards, backyards. Patios and swimming pools.
