landscape expert at work and at home

As a member of the design team, I implement the principle of “right plant, right place” in my plant selections, so that our clients can achieve the most success with their landscape plantings.

Current job responsibilities include collaborative support for Landscape Architects and Designers, which involves measuring sites, creating design concept and construction plans, contributing horticultural expertise, and compiling take-off data for estimates.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology (emphasis in Botany) with a Plant Science major (Horticulture option) from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls.
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree in Landscape Horticulture from Dakota County Technical College.
  • Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional since 2003.
  • Green industry professional since 1998, with experience in greenhouse production, nursery production, wholesale and retail nursery sales, and landscape design.
  • I grew up in western Wisconsin. When visiting greenhouses and conservatories as a child, it felt absolutely wonderful to be surrounded by an environment of beautiful plants! Those experiences were the driving influence in my choice of career.
  • I love to travel and make a point of finding public gardens to visit at all my destinations.
  • My husband, Mark, and I enjoy getting outdoors to bike, kayak, snowshoe or just walk trails near our home and cabin. We also love game nights with our three grown daughters- they always make us laugh!
