When this couple moved to Minnesota from Miami for their careers, they thought a pool would make their new place feel more like home. In addition to the one-of-a-kind swimming pool, this backyard has it all: fireplace, patio, bar, hot tub, and diving board. Beyond the unmatched amenities, this backyard has a playful personality that breaks the ice and keeps the party going!
An additional challenge was the slope of the yard, which made it even harder for these homeowners to use their yards. The after could not be a greater transformation...
Here's a bird's eye view of the new bluestone patio. As you can see, it is designed with entertaining in mind. From the two-way pass-through gas fireplace that visually connects to the second lower-level seating patio, to the playful bar sink and ice trough, this is a space that will be the setting for many gatherings and celebrations.
A second lower-level patio provides seating and access to the fireplace – and it’s even closer to the swimming pool! Garden beds, flower, and trees are integrated into the hardscape design to provide a refreshing contrast.
Because this backyard is on a slope, it was necessary to build a retaining wall to accommodate the multilevel design. The boulder retaining wall wraps around the side of the stone steps to fully integrate them into the landscape.
Unsurprisingly, these homeowners wanted their new swimming pool to reflect their Floridian roots and Miami style. Designed to take full advantage of the warm weather, there are several spaces designed for lounging by the swimming pool...
