A very busy family with five kids called us in to solve their cramped backyard problem. With only two small decks and a backyard that sloped to the woods behind them, they needed more outdoor space for their large family and many friends.
Before: Sloped backyard with small and enclosed decks and patio.
After: Mulit-level paver patio with sleek modern lines.
Multi-level patio with three seating areas, expertly laid paver patterns, and symmetrical garden boxes teeming with ornamental vines, grasses, and flowers.
The spacious patio can be used for hosting graduation parties, ice cream socials, receptions, or simply a regular weeknight family dinner. Because the space is open and none of the is furniture fixed, the space can be reconfigured over and over.
Relaxing outdoor living room with a rainbow backdrop of ornamental plantings. There is plenty of room to add chairs when more friends come over, or lounge solo all weekend long.
The theme of simplicity with modern details continues on the lower-level patio. Pavers laid out in a 45° running bond pattern create a sense of movement and make the space seem larger. To keep the patio looking sleek and streamlined, the wood-burning fire pit is set flush with the patio.
Southview maintains this backyard with weekly service. Our professional team stocked this unique corten steel planter with a multicolored explosion of coleus, purple fountain grass, petunias, potato vines, palms, lantana, and begonia.
Grasses visually soften the top edge of the four-foot Versalok modular concrete block wall. Steps provide easy access to the deck from the yard.
2017 AWARD WINNER – Steep slope transformed into a backyard inspired by nature. More than a patio! This design includes a backyard waterfall, stream, fire circle, and fly-fishing pond.
