Throughout the Twin Cities, Southview Design landscaping customers are enthusiastic about referring us to friends, neighbors, and family.
We're serious about backyard swimming pool design and installations.
As one of the fastest-growing landscape design firms in the country, there are always employment opportunities at Southview Design.
From the initial meeting to the final walk through, our process is design to deliver a positive experience every time.
Sited on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, this backyard was full of potential. Although there was plenty of space, the entertainment area was limited to the deck or the space below. The feeling was disjointed and the homeowners came to Southview looking for a cohesive entertainment space with a sense of flow.
The fire place and new paver patios were installed in the summer, crews returned in the fall to install the kitchen and bar, and
the entire project was finished the following spring. Now this luxurious backyard patio has it all: a unique
wood-burning fireplace, a gourmet outdoor kitchen, beautiful gardens, and even
a lounge space underneath the upper deck.
Even though the outdoor dining and living areas are contiguous, with no physical barrier separating them, a full-color Chilton inlay defines the living area like a rug. Dividing a larger space into different uses is a great way to create a sense of flow and purpose in any backyard.
The monumental fireplace is a focal point of this luxury patio design. Installed between two established spruce, this fireplace was carefully designed to match the architectural design of the home. A custom cottage stone veneer gives the fire place and old-world feeling, while the Bluestone detail and reclaimed wood mantle provide extra visual interest.
Incorporated into the patio are plantings and gardens that
help to shape the space and merge the outdoor living space with the landscape.
Small evergreen trees (junipers) and prairie flowers complement the natural
surroundings of this lakeside home. They also provide some separation between the dining area and the outdoor kitchen.
Built with all-inclusive entertaining in mind, this backyard patio includes a gourmet outdoor kitchen. With a built-in grill, dishwasher, plenty of storage drawers, and even a custom shelf for a coveted Big Green Egg this kitchen lacks no amenity. The countertop wraps around the column and connects the kitchen area to the lounge underneath the deck.
Our Design-Build Process
At the walkout level there is an outdoor living room complete with ceiling fan, as well as bar seating connected to the kitchen. This shaded and sheltered space is perfect for spending time outside on the hottest days or keeping the cook company. It can also serve as a "kids zone" during multi-generational gatherings.
Whether you find your happy place by taking in the placid water or sinking a few putts – this private retreat is the perfect place to find your center. Mr. Homeowner brought these statues back from a trip to Florida and, believe it or not, there is an actual heron that flies in to stand between the two statues. As they say, birds of a feather.
The designer incorporated an organic curve in the edge of the garden bed to complement the existing putting green.
From terraced patios installed just in time for a wedding reception, to backyard pool parties – we know how to have a good time outside. When you're ready to blow the roof off your galas and soirees, you know who to call.
Your perfect outdoor living space begins with a simple conversation. Let’s talk about your landscaping project!
