A 2022 North Central Region CotY (Contractor of the Year) award winner. Located high on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River Valley, this million-dollar view was the perfect backdrop for the entertainment hub the clients always dreamed of.
The homeowners envisioned a large entertaining space that was rich in amenities, yet highlighted the natural panoramic view of the valley. Their wish list included an outdoor kitchen, hot tub/spa, dining space, and a firepit. Keeping the view in mind, Southview strategically positioned the outdoor living space between two drop-offs, one to the southwest, and the other to the northeast.
The homeowners were hands-on through every aspect of the design-build process and were passionate about creating the perfect outdoor entertaining space. As part of this, they requested all materials be manufactured or found within the United States. Everything from the wiring in the low-voltage lights to the stone pavers to the kitchen appliances was sourced within the country.

The backyard features a custom stainless-steel spa/tub that is both visually striking and unique in design. With a background in engineering, the homeowner designed and built the steel structure. Southview designed and built the vault it sits in. The spa, which doubles as a plunge pool, is specially designed for year-round use.

To create a sense of cohesiveness, hand-cut and patterned Bluestone was used throughout. The shape of the patio was designed to include a visual balance of straight lines and natural curves. These careful details create harmony between the home, outdoor living space, and natural landscape beyond.
