Extensive Grading and Elevation Challenges

This property sits on top of a hill, and way at the bottom is the lake. The walk down was such a pain for this family of four that they contemplated moving! Instead, they called Southview to create an overall more enjoyable space with an accessible path to the water. With a steep slope and little space to work with, the Southview design team thought outside the box and created a solution that made this family want to stay.

Lower-Level Patio at the Lake Entrance

The bottom set of stone steps connect to the dock and patio. The circular flagstone patio is surrounded by beautiful greenery and has a low boulder seat wall on one side. We imagine on chillier days when the kids still want to swim, sitting around the wood-burning fire pit is the perfect place to warm up.

Stairway to Heaven

Terraces on a Steep Slope

Multiple sets of stone steps lead from the lower-level patio/lake entrance to the terraces at the top. On one side of the home, there is a patio under the deck with plenty of space to lounge. This patio is covered with a knotty pine ceiling and also has string lights and a ceiling fan. An additional dining patio is off to the side with a gas fire table. From that height, wherever you are, there's a scenic view of the water.

Upper-level terraces with concrete paver patios. A perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine.
